Cozumel is one of the best destinations in the world for great wall diving, clearest waters and welcoming hospitality. Most of the Diving in Cozumel is in a Marine Park, which means that the reef and marine life are protected. Also, a steady current pushes water along the coast line of the island, which provides nutrients for the reef and helps keep the visibility high. All dives in Cozumel are drift dives which means you don’t have to find the Dive Boat. The boat comes and picks you up when you surface. The dive guides are some of the best in the world. Most have been diving for decades as professional guides. They know the reef extremely well, have a strong sense of safety, and a great sense of humor. The other feature that stands out about the diving in Cozumel is the breath taking walls. The walls start in about 50 feet of water and drop into thousands of feet. There are large swim throughs with shafts of light like laser beams illuminating the sandy bottom.
On the First day of our Journey we will travel to Isle Mujeres, which has become a famous place for an annual migration of Whale Sharks, which hang out in this region for a few months every year to feast on plankton and snapper eggs. It is an amazing experience to swim with these gentle giants. Whale Sharks are the largest fish in the ocean, but only eat some of natures smallest creatures in the ocean.
