Diving Cozumel-Marine Park in Action

Recently, my wife and I traveled to Cozumel for a vacation with some close friends. It had been 6 years since our last visit. We have traveled to Cozumel many times in the past, and have fond memories of our adventures in Cozumel. I forgot though just how much I love CozumelThe people there are so friendly, the food and topside experience is wonderful, and the diving is amazing with perhaps the best visibility in the world. Cozumel is extremely special.

The island has grown up a lot over the years. Most of this can be attributed to the Cruise Ships. Cozumel boasts the largest Cruise Port in the World, which is hard to believe. The island no longer has that small town charm it once had, however it is safe, and if you knowwhere to look you can still find “treasure”. The Marine Park in Cozumel is a perfect example. The reefs are still amazing even with all of the development and the arrival of the Cruise Ships. The Dive Masters are still some of the best in the world. They have a great sense of humor, humbleness, attention to safety, and they know the reefs and marine life like the back of their hands.

We have traveled all over the Caribbean and throughout the World, and I can honestly say that the Reefs in Cozumel are the healthiest we have seen. The walls are spectacular! The reef is covered in growth of all kinds; hard corals, soft corals, anemones, and sponges galore! You will see Spotted Eagle Rays, Nurse Sharks, huge Angel Fish, Moray Eels, Electric Rays, and much more! This is why Marine Parks are so important. The Cozumel Marine Park is a perfect example of conservation in an encroaching world of pressures and development.

At Open Water Adventures, we believe that those that lead the way by doing the right thing should be rewarded. You can reward the people of Cozumel by visiting their Island. We plan to visit more often.

Sometimes, we spend too much time worrying about what is gone, and we forget to appreciate all of the good things that are still left and those that preserve it for future generations to enjoy.

Vamanos Muchachas! Dive Cozumel! Enjoy the people and enjoy the culture.

Lets Go Diving,
